I switched over to an iPod very quickly and enthusiastically - when they develop something similar for movies (that doesn't lose sound or picture quality) I'm dumping all my movies into a box and freeing up a lot of space in my home. Ultimately, I have movies in a library (just like I used to have CDs in a library) of sorts because I entertain guests a lot, and I enjoy giving them the choice.

The iPod freed up space and so I sent all my CDs to the basement quite unceremoniously. Also, whether I'm walking around Manhattan, in my car or at home jogging on the treadmill, I can choose any one of over 12000 songs that are in my iPod.

My library is totally different, though. If I had the approach to music that I have to books, I wouldn't own an iPod.
