Read on. I think GoT is the worst of the series by a LONG way

Yes, I know I'm about 15 years late. Deal with it.
I just finished reading A Game of Thrones, and enjoyed it very very much. It's a very difficult book, but very rewarding. Seeing as everyone will have read it years ago, I won't go into detail but there's a few things I wanted to comment on:
- Jon Snow is awesome. He makes me sad.
- Dany. While her plotline ended up being really good in her last few chapters, what the hell is going on with it? Am I to understand it's still had nothing to do with anything by the end of the fourth book?
- Did I misread it or did Arya go out on a live-or-die cliffhanger with about 100 pages to go? I know she's not dead but if that's right then that's a really weird way of ending her storyarc in this book.
- Sansa. Oh lord, Sansa.

Jon gets more badass. I disliked him in book 1. He's still not my favourite character, but at least he doesn't whine anymore.
Dany's plotline gradually melds with the rest. There's no definite overlap by book 4, but the spoiler chapters for 5 imply that will change soon. But there is interaction, for sure.
Arya's cliff-hanger ending is standard for GRRM. My biggest complaint, though it will be awesome in the TV Series, is his huge abuse of the cliff-hanger. He does it so much that it loses its impact a little. But he learns new tricks by book 3, like slow build up of tension. Which is better, IMO.
Does the Devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil?
What difference does it make after all? Anonymity in the world of men is better than fame in heaven, for what's heaven? What's Earth? All in the mind.

So... A Game of Thrones

'Game' was good. The rest go downhill fast, though.

Oh alright, so there was a bit of exaggeration. (very slight real spoilers)

If you keep up the 15-year delay, you may not have to wait to read the fifth book...

Just to ask.....are the first 3 books essentially a trilogy?
