It also seems to be a strong argument against a nefarious intent on the part of the planet (if the planet is indeed sentient). Either that, or the planet doesn't understand humanity well enough to have any effective nefarious intent. A far better way to get Kris to take the faux Harey to earth would probably involve her not desiring her own death.

To me, that would just show once again how futile it is to keep trying to hold onto the past. Even if it's possible to bring people back from the dead, it doesn't fix the problems that they left behind when they died.
