See...I think I made a mistake in my reading of Dune Brian Send a noteboard - 22/04/2010 07:26:28 AM
I was in the middle of reading Hyperion and forgot it at home on the way to the airport....so I was stuck reading Dune. This led to some unfair comparisons in quality between Dune and Hyperion (I considered Hyperion to be a much much better book than Dune).

So now I'm a bit stuck...do I re-read Dune to give it another chance (because my opinion of the book was not very favorable at all, in fact I walked away saying "That is supposed to be one of the best sci-fi books of all time??" ) or do I just say screw the whole series and go read some more John Scalzi? :P

Just because something plays a dominate role doesn't make it a theme - 21/04/2010 02:09:42 PM 953 Views
A theme is merely a dominant strain in a story; there can be more than one theme present - 21/04/2010 11:21:38 PM 914 Views
