First thing, take this with a grain or two of salt please. Here we go:
Eh...I don't need some educated idiot telling me what to make of any books I read. I am quite capable of thinking for myself and coming up with my own assessments without having my hand held so to speak. I have always found people who write these critiques very amusing. I always get this vibe where they think their opinion about a book should matter to a person more than the person who is reading it... Understanding the point of objective criticism is one thing, successfully applying it is another matter (to me at least the man seemed to take shots just for the sake of taking them). Not that the man doesn't make any good points mind, however he seems to quite literally forget they are just his opinion. I have never really like anyone who assumed their word was law, or were right in what they said just because they said it. I got a lot of that here... I guess I just don't think people should devote so much time pointing the finger at others. Ya know, because surely anything he wrote would be a masterpiece without flaw... Really it would (or is I guess *cough cough Basically what his reviews say to me, my elementary sized brain was already able to figure out for itself... Its a good series, with some flaws. A bit of extra fluff here and there and some pacing issues. Wow I'm glad we have people out in the world to tell us we already know. I wonder if I should read all his critiques and critique him on his critiquing???
Ok I just wanted to see how many times I could get that word into one sentence.
So I guess my official word to Proffessor Roberts review: Congratulations to Captain State the Obvious!
Hmmm....I probably shouldn't post stuff when I am all grumpy huh? Oh well
P.S. No offence to Mr. Roberts or any people who devote themselves to the wisdom of his words...
And how ironic is it that I am giving my opinion about someones body of work, that happens to be giving his opinion of other peoples bodies of work.... Okay I'll shut up and stop rambling now.
