Lan, appropriately enough, looks like an undead zombie. His complexion is positively greenish-white and clammy. The coloring is off, and some of the earlier photos in the animated gif make it seem that he literally went from a living man to a corpse over the course of a few moments.
I do have to give credit where it is due per conveying an image of underwater lighting. Definitely kudos for that, even though I think it didn't quite work out for Lan.
This does have a tendency towards looking like a romance novel cover, though, and I almost wish they chose the moment when she reaches the surface and realizes her block is gone or right before when Moghedien tries to balefire her.
