They're pretty cool; I favor more realism, but I think they are nice and recognizable.
My main critique would be that Lanfear seems too thin to support her bust size, and next to her feet, her body doesn't seem to have the right proportions. It's more noticeable when you look at the lower curve of her right breast - there seems to be a chunk of her body missing. Her hair ornaments or combs should also be a bit more obvious. I think there was too much moderation in working them into the hair and experimenting with shapes. If I recall her appearance correctly, her hair falls straight down her back, and the combs can be used in a picture to give it more curves and greater body to make it more interesting. It seems unruly and uncharacteristic.
I think your friend might want to investigate the possibility of using Ishamael in his first appearance as Ba'alzamon hanging in the air wearing the robe he wore at the masquerade. I mainly say this because Ishamael tends to look like "typical fantasy demon", and the best pictures of him are the ones that emphasize him as a philosopher or enigmatic figure IMHO.
I think Graendal's face in this picture needs a bit more work; the nose area in particular looks rough and I think your friend may have left too many lines on it - lines on a woman's face always makes her look older, whereas the same can be used on a man's to give it a sculpted look. I think her background looks the best of the three - it really gives me the idea that she is using Compulsion and her face has expanded while the rest of the room loses focus as she gives me orders.
It might help if your friend looked at a few photos of more glamorous hair for the female Forsaken or perhaps they should concentrate more on the face of the Forsaken and their expressions? I think the feet in general are a weak area, and perhaps concentrating on the torso would be better.

Too thin for her bust size? I don't understand that concept... *NM*

A woman will snap in half if her bust size is big and she's thin. *NM*

The first one is closer to my mental image of Cyndane, with all the silveriness. *NM*
