I had a related question about the oath rod: jiggy Send a noteboard - 24/03/2010 10:07:52 AM
So back in...tFoH...tSR(?) Siuan and Leane were brutally deposed and stilled. They rapidly lost their ageless look as well as the oaths they swore as AS.

Now, this suggests that the oaths they swore were somehow tied to their ability to channel. Or, more accurately I suspect, the fact that they had to swear to the oath rod using the OP. They then lost their link to the OP and the were released from the oaths they swore with it.

IIRC, in the AOL, the oath rod was used to bind criminals and the ageless look was a kind of mark. I think it's safe to assume that not every single criminal in the AOL could channel and, so, would need the help of an AS to swear to the oath rod. Now, my question is: What would happen to the criminal if the AS who channelled the OP to bind them to the oath rod was stilled/burn out/died?
*MySmiley*_________jiggY,
~Life's a puzzle. Go figure.

I disagree. The Oaths are among the least irritating of the many irritating things about Aes Sedai. - 27/03/2010 09:56:34 PM 610 Views
