In fact, I'm glad he used one of my favorite terms, 'infodump', which is one of the worst sins any writer can make.
And, yes, I do agree that this is a very derivative series that is more conservative than most sci/fi books I have read, but I've been saying this for a couple of years, so some of you may be familiar with it.
Good on him for pointing out that RJ's reading style is simultaneously long winded while being comfortably familiar.
