I figure that improving their communication is one of the best things that the good guys can do. 'Cause at this point, they might want to see if they can make a 3-mile wide sheet of fancloth... Maybe they'll stand a chance against the Shadow if they sneak their way through the Blight.

Good suggestions, the only problem with your ideas is that they make one assumption that we know is false.
The assumption that the people in the books actually have properly working brains.
Miscommunication is such a huge thing in the books that its just silly at this point. After traveling was discovered, there was absolutely no reason not to keep in constant contact with everyone all the time. This would have helped significantly in many ways. But in WoT, people just don't talk to each other.
Maybe the new improved Rand/LTT with his (presumed) new memories will realise that not talking to people is pretty damn stupid and actually call up a meeting to discuss strategy and such. But I doubt it.
