Perrin would beat Lan?! - Edit 1

At least, amongst the characters that don't channel that is.
Mat would shred him to bits with that Ashanderei of his, or thunk him silly with a simple staff.
Galad too should be able to beat Gawyn.
But Lan? Nope. Lan is an OLD MAN. Sure, he's badass, but just not fit or quick enough anymore to challenge Gawyn, or Mat or Galad. Heck, I think Perrin could take the old Malkieri too.
Personally, and this will probably get me flamed, I think even Thom Merrilin would be Lan at this point, without the bad leg Thom as of course.

The reason being is that Lan has hit his top potential. He's been as good as he has for better than 25 years. Gawyn, on the other hand, is still getting better. You will notice that Gawyn was able to defeat Hamar, and I don't even think that he was injured. Lan was able to beat Riatan, but he lost his sword in the process and was wounded as well.
The fact that Gawyn is a whiney little child with delusions of thinking he's knowledgeable just absolutely slays me. He insists on believing that his mother was killed by Rand...a rumor that his own love disputes and says isn't true. And then he insists on killing Rand even though doing so would pretty much guarentee the end of creation and the Dark One taking over the entire realm of existance.
Dude needs to learn some priorities.
A good question though would be could Galad still beat Gawyn?
