That "Rand is second only to Lan with the sword". Thus I would say that Lan is the best.


I didn't think Lan is really that skilled with the sword - I thought he was just above average or something. In New Spring, he mentions people who are better than him.

Yes, New Spring is a while before the main sequence, but Lan was already a general at the time (presumably at or near his peak abilities).
