BS has said that the Demandred reveal will be huge, and Moridin clearly engineered the Graendal and Semirhage situation. So I don't think he is just a bully. More of a nihilistic mastermind.

There were points in the book when I almost wondered if he was actually in Love with LTT/Rand, but was spurned.
