I feel that it is Rand's respect for the Seanchan way of doing things, how the people seem well cared for and at peace, that constituted him kneeling before the cyrstal throne. He seemed genuinely touched that strangers seemed to care about him when he was sick on the ground, compared to how they would have reacted in any of the lands he controlled.

I know it is not a literal interpretation of the prophecy, but it is no more abstract than the blind man seeing again on top of dragonmount.
