On top of that, the CK argument is very, very hard to counter. If the Shadow wanted Rand to be a prisoner and a weapon (after converting him with the 13+13 trick), then why not take the CK as well and just break the world?

I seriously doubt they knew Rand could or would draw on the TP. I think it was simply a fluke.
