Reading this quote it's odd that Elza still holds to her "you will face the Great Lord and lose" mentality ... that epiphany was due to the compulsion in the first place so with it gone why still hold to it?
Verin did not implant this idea into Elza's head.
Which only means that she convinced herself that this is why she swore to Rand.
