Hello everyone !
Last night, I was wondering about the interactions between cuendillar and gateways. I came up with two scenarii which I found interesting :
1) Channeler A opens a gateway, pushes through a stick of cuendillar so that half the stick is on one end of the gateway, and the other half on the other end. He then tries to close the gateway. What happens ? We know that with anything else than cuendillar, the sitck would be cleanly cut in half. Does the gateway stay open and the stick float in midair ? Is the channeler prevented from closing the gateway, same as when Rand prevented Aviendha's gateway from closing in TFoH ?
2) Same channeler, same scenario. However, in the end, the channeler is cut off from the Source (either shielded or stilled/gentled or burn out). Is there a difference ? I don't see how the gateway could remain open if it wasn't tied off and no channeling takes place to keep it open.
What do you think ?
Sorry if it's been discussed before, but I haven't seen this topic covered yet...
