I agree they could just as easily have killed her, but they gave up the advantage when they didn't attack and when Taim sat there and told them not to be stupid, there are only 2 of them (not knowing Renaile was a channeler). Overall this is a bad example of who is more skilled...
That advantage was never lost. They could have shot a deadly weave at the women any time, and Elayne wouldn't have known. She didn't even know if they were holding the power.
Elayne, however, did a foolish thing by not hiding her ability and that of the others. That way, they'd have held the same advantage.
I'm more interested in the Flinn-circle vs. Demandred and Verin-circle vs. Graendal ... obviously both of these battles were relatively evenly matched and the Forsaken should have destroyed the others with barely a thought...
With Flinn, I think it goes to show that he is quite strong and skilled.
The Verin circle is one of the most important reasons why I think the Aes Sedai are not nearly as weak compared to the Forsaken as some others suggest.
Furthermore, Verin was Black Ajah and unrestricted in her weave research. She probably knew some really nasty, and previously unknown, weaves.
Is Rand logical when he estimates female danger?
