1) Objects don't have threads in the Pattern, so destroying the angreal doesn't undo anything, it just destroys the angreal.
This seems to be a bone of contention. See Datakim's post above, for evidence to the contrary.
Yeah, I've seen Sanderson's statement on that, but I think he got it wrong. RJ originally said objects don't have threads, and that's what I'm sticking with.
2) Why would Graendal ever take it off? It's a ring, she can wear it 24/10, and I would be very surprised if she didn't.
That's a good point. If it were a bulky statue or something, you could see her putting it down. But a ring, in a situation where she would presumably have been more cautious/alert than normal? It does seem unlikely.
And regardless of whether point #1 is correct or not, this seems the theory-breaker right here. I would be very disappointed if some strange circumstances had made Graendal leave her palace without her most prized possession, inadvertently tricking Rand into thinking he'd killed her.
Graendal is dead. I actually didn't get a huge letdown over her death. I can't really think of any other way for Rand to get rid of her. She was smarter than him, and she was never going to stand and fight him. He beat her.
I don't have a problem with Graendal's death in this manner, either. I was just trying to think of a plausible way she may still be alive. But, all the feedback I'm getting is making me think that my "plausible" way is not so "plausible" after all.
Alright, I can see where you're coming from, but still, I think the theories about Graendal's Compulsion dissipating are more likely than this, even if I do think they're all wrong.
