But not to the same extent as with gateways... Shannow Send a noteboard - 03/01/2010 07:49:15 PM

Aes Sedai link when they face a large threat - clearly everything in channeling is enchanced even if women alone are involved. I don't see why Verin would link with the three other women if individually they could attack Graendal with equal potency.

Precision weaving is one of the most underestimated skills in the series, IMO.

One Aes Sedai and One Ashaman can make a gateway larger than Rand, but one of the strongest Ashaman linked with TWO Aes Sedai only match Demandred in the potency of their weaves.

Clearly linking allows one Ashaman and one Aes Sedai to exceed Rand's gateway size, but not to exceed the potency of his weaves in general.

13 women can make a gateway 50 times bigger than Rand, yet 13 linked women clearly are not 50 times more potent than Rand in general.

If that was the case, then how is it possible that some circles of 13 are not strong enough to overwhelm the stongest man, according to Asmodean?

The gateway issue is tied to Asmodean's statement that there are limits for gateways made by a single person, irrespective of the strength of the person in question. Clearly, adding additional people dramatically enlarges the gateway in excess of the normal linking advantage.

Gateways are somehow linked to the number of people in the circle in a way that is additional to the normal linking benefits.
