I'd lock those up and get new ones just to read. Your devaluing something that is going to be worth money someday.
Hmmm... will they be worth much considering that they got into that state before RJ even passed away? And who knows if the Wheel of Time will still be read 20-30 years from now - so many other series disappear into oblivion after a few years, after all. But you are right, if only because I would like to preserve them for myself - I will do that.
My favorite signed copy is not even a WoT book but a scrappy Monsters' Inc. coloring book that was graciously signed by RJ for my then 4 year old son (seeing as everyone else lined up with books to sign, he wanted to join the action :-)). I still have the book and Ibrought it to a tGS signing here, since I thought Harriet would appreciate seeing it. She was really touched and both BS and Harriet ended up signing it. :-)
