Who else is on your team? If you're doing this by yourself, then good luck and I look forward to playing the mod in six or seven years time ;)

Nobody else.

Are you a skinner/3D modeller?

No.

Does this new project have its own messageboard on one of the TOTAL WAR forums like TW Center, which you'll need to drum up interest and get some additional personnel on board?

I have no messageboard. I have no intention of having one.

Why are you using ROME when MEDIEVAL II has more options for modding and medieval units are already present in the game (meaning less work to start off with) when you have to change 100% of the content of ROME from scratch and simply can't do certain things (like custom cities to look like they are in the books, which is impossible in ROME but - theoretically - possible in MED II?) at all?

I have Medieval Total War 2. It doesn't run well on my machine. I chose Rome Total War for this mod because I am more familiar with that game. So, to answer your question, I chose to go with Rome Total War because I'm more familiar with it.

There's another reason I am going with Rome Total War. I am NOT planning on modding new units. That would take me too long. So, I was left with some difficult decisions to make. Many technologies in Medieval 2 Total War are too far advanced for the wheel of time (e.g. units with guns) setting. On the other hand, all of Rome Total War's units fit the Wheel of Time setting. BUT, as you've pointed out, the functionality and modding capabilities of Rome are less limited compared to M2TW.

Ultimately, because I realized I do not have enough time to mod/make new units, I chose to go with Rome instead of M2TW.

I'm part of a team that's been working on WESTEROS: TOTAL WAR for the past several years, and it took half a dozen people two years just to get the beta release out (link below), and that's with considerably less work than a WHEEL OF TIME mod would need (only nine factions to WHEEL OF TIMES 16-17, for example).

I did not give enough information in my original post. I am NOT changing everything. In fact, I do not have time to change MOST things. Most of the changes will be things like a new map, changed faction names, new icons reflecting wheel of time banners, etc.

I will post another post below with some updated stuff on what I've done.
