Is refuted by the BWB. The need for Slayer while more powerful tools were in stasis is obvious, but that doesn't mean that he's the only assassin ... just a specialist ... and he's obsolete with Channelers and Gholam out there now in any case! He's failed time and again:
1. Fain, still alive and kicking and from what we can see Slayer never even got close to him!
2. Perrin (who wasn't really his "mark" just in the way)
3. Nynaeve (seems like he was just covering his tracks when seen with her, I don't recall him being sent after her)
4. Rand/Min ... that was just a big bungle!
His biggest accomplishment in series thus far was killing a couple of bound AS and a Gray Man ... doesn't seem like he's all that special if you as me. Millie seems to have done as much
