Will the TP be the Dark One's undoing? - Edit 6

I would be willing to bet that for a while now a lot of people have been wondering "How will Rand defeat/handle the Dark One?". I have my little piece of the puzzle I would like to share.
When LTT tried to defeat the DO, part of his failure was that the DO was able to touch saidin and taint it.
This passage, said by LTT, leads me to believe that saidin, saidar or any combination of the two would be insufficient to lock up the DO. They would be tainted by the DO if they tried to attack him with it.
This makes me believe that Rand will need to use the TP to attack the DO. Beyond that I have no idea what Rand would have to do to defeat the DO (that could be supported with text).
Also, I think the following passage is a little hint from the author...
Also, on an tangential note, why was the taint on saidin always described as disgusting and negative (residue from the DO), but the TP, which is the DO himself kinda, described as feeling amazing?
I am interested in your opinions/ideas on these things.

"We used saidin, but we touched it to the Dark One. It was the only way! Something has to touch him, something to close the gap, but he was able to taint it. The seal was weak!" (345)

"In a way, the Dark One's own taint will destroy him, for it is what gave me access to Lews Therin." (244)
