It was posed by someone at Dragonmount:
"Went to the signing in Idaho Falls today and asked BS if we had seen Demandred's alter ego on screen and he gave me a R.A.F.O. card and said that Demandred's identity is the biggest secret in the series and will pay off in the end. I asked if the pacing would be the same in TofM as it was in TGS and he said that TGS was like books 1-3 and TofM would be like 4-6. I'm not sure if this is new or not but thought I'd post it."
If this report is reliable, I think it further strengthens the idea that Demandred has a 3rd Age alter ego (like almost all other Forsaken), otherwise - i.e. if Demandred doesn't have such a disguise - one could hardly say that "Demandred's identity is the biggest secret in the series and will pay off in the end."
IMO, this also speaks against the theory that Demandrd is at the BT. Would he really pose as an Asha'man under Taim? It seems much more likely that he is a high-ranking noble and/or general we haven't seen yet on-screen, e.g. in Murandy. If he would convincingly play King Roedran, though, is somewhat doubtful, especially since Demandred likes proxies. Or perhaps he is indeed the Taraboner general Tamrin.

That is quite a strong message from BS, but I don't think there are too many notables that we haven't seen on screen. Roedran... maybe - but I think Sanderson is hinting at something more shocking. I don't think we'll see a Sharan army suddenly appear in the Westlands, either, so I'm ruling that angle out, too.
As for being with the Borderlanders... we've seen all their rulers on screen, so that rules out that idea.
He's not with the ogier (probably) - we've seen Elder Hamann on-screen
He's not with the Whitecloak Inquisitors - we've seen Asunawa et al. on screen before.
I'm going to throw out the possibilities that he could be based in Mayene or the Sea Folk - they seem too inconsequential.
I don't think he is one of Rand's stewards - we've seen them before.
He's probably not in Tar Valon... who could he hide as, there? A warder? How would he gather an army? Surely he would be displaced by Bryne now anyway.
So, that really doesn't leave anything. Maybe we haven't even heard of Demandred's alter-ego? The character has to be rather obscure to not have made an appearance in 12 books.
Possibilities (just throwing a few out there): based in alternate universe, King of Finnland, King of Seanchan/Seandar (he WAS working with Semi)
Personally, I think he is King of Finnland

I agree; a RAFO doesn't indicate anything besides a lack of information for us to speculate with.

I hope we're not setting ourselves up for the most colossal disappointment of the series.

yeah, he has, so my Darlin=Demandred theory is starting to fail me

I didn't, but Shara just seems too out-of-the blue at this point. *NM*

Maybe he is in Murandy, but is also bring the Borderlanders there to make a mega-army? *NM*
