To Travel you need to have the strength to do so, know the weave and know your origin and location. The damane is capable of all of this even when linked.

... that maybe the mental part of the weave is something Damane will find difficult.

Take the example of skimming. The opening of the Gateway requires the Power. Thereafter, the size of the platform, the shape of it, etc. seems to be a matter of will as well as preference. In some way, it seems very like TAR.

Now there is a strong suspicion (almost confirmed by Semi) that a'dam prevent access to TAR. The reasons seems to be similar to why domesticated animals cannot enter TAR consciously... a lack of free will means you're useless at TAR.

Now maybe, maybe, this lack of free will can make it impossible for damane to Skim. I don't see why Travelling should be affected, but skimming certainly may be.

If so, then Traveling is already almost useless to damane. If you eneter enemy territory, and then need to gate out in an emergency from a place you don't know, then you're screwed.

They can use the a'dam to force an Aes Sedai or channeler with knowledge of the weave to use it. - 16/12/2009 05:25:14 PM 651 Views

All you need is one to reveal a weave, and the knowledge will spread. - 17/12/2009 03:14:14 PM 584 Views
