Hmm, Murandy seems very similar to the German states of the Middle Ages, not all that important or strong when seperate, but once Kaiser Wilhelm and Otto Von Bismark consolidated them into one nation, they ended up being pretty powerful. (which is an understatement)

Powerful enough to sweep all the way north past the Mountains of Mist and drive a wedge between the Borderland armies and their lands near the Blight Border?

I don't know if there is enough time left to have a sudden onslaught come from that direction that would not be contained by the surrounding countries - we're dealing with a few months where as far as outsiders are concerned, Murandy is still somewhat of a disunited mess. I don't really see any central authority springing up that soon.
