As you pointed out, Egwene herself thinks she wasn't wrong.
And while I agree that the Egwene we knew till KoD would certainly have seen some similarity between herself and Elaida over the Oaths and been appalled, I put it down to an error on Brandon's part that he did not discuss this.
I still don't think its anywhere close to hypocrisy on her part though. Especially since, in CoT, she thinks that she cannot abuse her power over these women, both because they would balk and maybe backstab her as well as because it would be an abuse of her power. She was never in danger of going down Elaida's road.
It's still close enough that Egwene herself thinks it's Compulsion when she realises its effects on Rand's sworn Sisters, and definitely not different enough that what is 'a betrayal of all that they are' for the Black Ajah Hunters is moral for Egwene.
She thinks it is compulsion because she cannot think of any other way in which 30 Aes Sedai, from two violently opposed factions, would swear fealty to a man who can channel. And she was right.
