The Dark One wants to be Balefired - Edit 1

A bold statement. But gathering what we know about the wheel, I think I can back it up.
* As early as TGH, we've heard that the Dark One means to "slay the great serpent" and destroy the wheel.
* From Herid Fel, we know that the Dark One and his prison are in integral part to the turning of the wheel. Therefore, it seems likely to me that without the Dark One, the wheel would become non-existent.
* Rand has been pushed towards using Balefire again. Specifically by Moridin in tGS, A Place to Begin (page 237).
* Upon hearing Rand's intention to "Slay the Dark One. Let the Wheel turn without his constant taint", Moridin replies "I doubt you can understand the magnitude of the stupidity in your statement". Why would the idea be stupid? Two possibilities present themselves: firstly, it might be impossible. Or, secondly, it might be possible, but actually disadvantageous to Rand. This would be the case if destroying the Dark One meant the Wheel would be destroyed too.
As a result of the above, I believe that the DO's actions thus far in the series have all aimed to push Rand towards trying to Balefire him at Tarmon Gaidon - the result of which would be the removal of the Dark One from the Wheel and the Wheel's destruction.
This ties in with a related theory I have that the Dark One represents Chaos in the world, and the Pattern represents order (with balefire, perhaps, representing nothingness). There needs to be a balance of Order and Chaos, not the removal of one or the other, in order for life to continue.
Please share your thoughts and any other related theories (whether in agreement with this one or not).
