I think a BA attack unlikely, for reasons I stated previously. But this is irrelevant because the tower would soon recognise Egwene.
Egwene's battle prep was thus irrelevant - and very nearly a CATASTROPHE. A few more minutes and she would have assaulted a Tower that was ready to give itself up!
This near-disaster was averted by luck. She made no attempt to gather intel.
Her "leadership" was crap. And her cowed advisers acted cowed.
Note that this is in response to claims of her perfection. She did ok in (her) circumstances. Doing ok is not "perfect", especially where her assumptions were shown to be wrong.
.. Oh, and surely she would have been in MORE danger from BA if in the tower? No Elaida to protect her. Mesaana on the loose. Chaos all about. Fookrooted. Kill her and she may just be a Seanchan casualty.
Siuan saved her life, I think.

Go read the chapters where all of this takes place, Egwene evaluates all (or most) of what you are talking about and realizes what she must do. She manages to try and execute 50 BA and get her forces prepared for war in less than 24 hours, she didn't have time to gather "intel" beyond what she learned from Saerin when she picked up the oath rod. It's not like she sat outside for 2 weeks then suddenly decided to attack!
And you are forgetting that when she gets to the bridge her first actions are to hold off the attack because something is clearly going on with the Tower. Her decision to wait for an hour averted the situation!
I'm not saying she was perfect, and neither did Egwene, the whole time this is going on she is agonizing over the decision, but she's also strong enough to realize that if she doesn't force the unification after the Seanchan attack that the Tower would never be whole again.
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!

Egwene had the best mix of teachers and a desire to learn. Most believable, IMO. *NM*
