The Aes Sedai in the AOL were almost a religion - they were the Servants who served the Light, even before the Dark One was freed. They channeled the energy of the Creator to help others, and help society.
Who says they served the Light? To extrapolate some sort of position or attitude of that nature for them is absurd and unsupported. They were entirely worldly, since they were the ones who provided most of the means to support the world's advances and technology. The Aes Sedai of the Third Age have a more religious mindset and attitude than anything we have seen of the Aes Sedai. Nowhere is any such

It's like suggesting that half of the Vatican would ally with the Devil if he walked the Earth because he promised power and immortality.
Of course they would! And will, when the Antichrist comes. Can you really be THIS ignorant? The Vatican is a bureaucracy, and the oldest in the world. It is no different than any other such organization. To assume that the Cardinals and the other administrators of the Church are all saints of the highest sort is laughable, and unsupported by history OR Church teaching. I suppose the elite warriors of the USA are the Joint Chiefs of Staff? That the elected officials and bureaucrats of the USA are the best, morally & intellectually, people in the nation?

What kind of logic is that? Even if you believe it to be a huge temptation to Aes Sedai of the Age, it then doesn't explain why channelers like Lews Therin and his Companions were NOT interested in it.
Who says they weren't? They just had the stones to refuse.

Besides, there's a difference between being a cheater or thief, and being a mass murderer and total hedonist. Half of people are not the latter, no matter where you're from.
So then where do people like Hitler and Stalin get their armies from? It is incredibly easy to get suckered into this sort of thing, especially as a follower or flunky.

I see no reason to believe Kari was a Darkfriend. Ishamael is a liar, and that's that. - 04/12/2009 01:19:00 AM 556 Views
