Siuan, Leaine and Meidani were all rebels, though. And they are all weak. The Hall would not accept these choices, I think.
In AS terms Meidani is by no means weak. She has enough strength to open a Gateway and pick up and carry a dead body (let's say 150lbs, Verin was plump) at the same time... the majority of AS wouldn't be able to do this. In addition, we know that women with vast strength differentials don't "hang out" in AS world ... Meidani must be high enough up to make it appropriate for her and Elaida to be friends. I'd say she's rather Strong in AS terms.

I really thing its high time we see the ability vs. choices factor into the silly AS thinking. I hope it happens in the next few books.
Although it is a lot to wish for given Amyrlin Egwene I'm-going-to-regress-and-hug-the-Oath-Rod.
Strength is just about the dumbest way to measure themselves... it's like deciding that only the tallest people can be in charge.
As for the Oaths, I have wonder how long AS can keep them up in a world rife with war. First, there will be the "make weapons for us AS" then it will be "we need you in this battle AS" then it'll be "Yes Logain it was good for me too"
Snarkiness aside I do think that AS will need to rethink the Oaths now that there are so many competing organizations out there who have no such restrictions. AS can't hope to keep the Oaths and maintain their power base with so many unrestricted Channelers out there! Why would a woman choose to join them if it means restricting herself when she wouldn't have to if she decided to become a Wise One or part of the Kin?
when Egwene demands that all the Asha'man must swear on the Oath Rod, too, and Rand agrees. I mean, it's only fair and that way we can be sure that there are no BlackMales...

The whole Strength thing needs to be scrapped anyway.

Yep. That's why she probably WOULD tell him, but she'd be reluctant at best. *NM*
