I am having trouble swallowing 200+ BA among the Aes Sedai and the Tower still standing at all. Yes, whatever Mesaana may be doing with the novices, isn't 1/5 of the total number of Aes Sedai a resource that should be or could have been better utilized?
There were over 80 BA in the Tower before the Seanchan attack. By that point the Tower has about 240ish sisters. 1/3 of the remaining Tower AS were Black. What are they doing and why the drama at all; there could have been far more division, easily.
Add that to a Seanchan attack that really couldn't have been a surprise to the Shadow (and a huge missed opportunity to finish the tower once and for all if they really don't care about their channeling resources) and I just have to wonder what's the point then.
