For me, it's not so much that it was a small part, but that it seems unlikely. She's not someone who PRETENDS to be the most awesome ever, she actually is. The psychology of it doesn't work for me, but I could be wrong. Oh noes, don't spank me! You'll just prove that I've been right to call you mindless barbarians. I also think that spanking Caddy would get you an Unbreakable Grudge, not so much a crying Caddy. *shrugs* Or possibly a crying Caddy, but not one who will tell you anything she hadn't already planned to.
Semirhage was my second favourite Forsaken, so I know what you mean. The truth is that Cadsuane did get the better of this intelligent woman. It's like being captured by terrorists and you're an interrogator. You think they'll put your head in ice water, shock you, pull your finger nails and beat you up every day. You prepare yourself mentally and they take you to a cave, and put you in a room with thousands of barbies and pink wallpaper. You're shocked... you might cry.
I was surprised (and slightly underwhelmed) by Graendal's lack of screen-time, but I was impressed with Rand there. Bad balefire, but well, effective plan. *nods*
It was the way to deal with a Forsaken, I agree. Don't ever play their game. Rand has done it almost every time, and now it was his turn to set the terms.

Egwene had the best mix of teachers and a desire to learn. Most believable, IMO. *NM*
