Ummm, what? fionwe1987 Send a noteboard - 03/12/2009 02:23:08 AM
Moiraine, for example, felt threatened enough at multiple times due to her mission and the nature of her enemies to have rather free reign in regards to how she approached this Oath - as far as she was concerned, everyone was a potential enemy and noone could be trusted.

The enemies she mistrusted were members of the Shadow, not normal people. And those sworn to the Shadow are excepted from the Oaths.

I cannot remember one instance where Moiraine used the Power on civilians and justified it as self defense.

I'm not convinced. I don't believe she'd want to subject herself to being sworn. - 01/12/2009 09:54:40 PM 735 Views
Not just that, but in the AoL, the Oath Rod was used to "bind criminals". *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:41:35 AM 270 Views

But given free will, they can interpret "danger" to mean "clear and present" or "potential danger" - 02/12/2009 04:54:26 PM 496 Views
Last defense of life cannot mean potential danger. *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:51:27 PM 211 Views
Yes it can. It all depends on interpretation. - 03/12/2009 12:22:47 AM 496 Views
