In that Foretelling, she referred to "...the lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond..." Most agree that this is a reference to Rand's girlfriends, but why are Elayne & Aviendha cast as weapons? That is a very peculiar metaphor to describe them, especially considering Elayne has never been, nor shows any sign of becoming, a warrior or anything remotely weaponish, and Aviendha has moved beyond that. There is little to indicate she is even a particularly notable warrior, in her nation full of elite warriors. Even more odd is calling Elayne a weapon, next to Aviendha. At best she would be "the lion spoon" to Aviendha's dedicated spear.
I can't help but think this means Rand might actually use them as weapons in some way. Say, perhaps, in a link with Callandor, where they have to be the ones to actually weave the weaponized flows...

I think you may be reading too much into Nicola's descriptions. Aviendha is quite literally a dedicated spear, as Aiel means dedicated and she was a Maiden of the Spear. Elayne's description makes sense too. The lion obviously represents Andor, and the sword is simply specifying the executive power of Andor, which Elayne, as queen, holds.
But who am I to complain, since essentially you are agreeing with me here.
I am not actually convinced of the accurracy of this idea, or of Rand using Callandor with those two (given Elayne's pregnancy and accompanying difficulties channeling), but it the one stands, I believe the other supports it.
I can't believe I forgot such a major detail like Elayne's pregnancy. I guess a lot will relate to how much time has lapsed and when will Elayne deliver. I can't rightly imagine her being out of comission for the rest of the series. Plus, if Rand eats it, and his bondholders must feel the Warder Bond break, it might not be good for the babies. I hope they get out of there before that happens.
