Mesaana was easily able to get past the Oath Rod. Tansu Targli Send a noteboard - 01/12/2009 09:35:07 PM
She is one of the "Chosen" Forsaken.
I believe that she is still in the White Tower.

I don't know anything about Mesaana really, but I don't find it out of the realm of possibility that she may have done one of two things.

The First is the one that I find to be most probable; she swore the oaths and then said that she was not Black Ajah. Simple as that.
The reason she would have been able to do this is that even after taking the oaths it is possible to tell a lie. All you have to do is believe it. How else can one group of Aes Sedai claim two different Amyrlins? Mesaana thinks of herself as being ABOVE THE BLACK.

The second way is she could have compelled the sister she was posing as let her do it for her. Whether or not that sister were Black I believe that the compulsion would allow her to say that she wasn't.

But of course I believe that Mesaana took the oaths herself and passed the test because in her mind She Is Not Black Ajah.

I'm not convinced. I don't believe she'd want to subject herself to being sworn. - 01/12/2009 09:54:40 PM 736 Views
Not just that, but in the AoL, the Oath Rod was used to "bind criminals". *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:41:35 AM 271 Views

To be honest, though, any Sister can defeat the Three Oaths. - 01/12/2009 10:37:29 PM 586 Views

Well, that's just one oath. The other two are not as easy to circumvent. - 02/12/2009 01:19:53 AM 671 Views
But given free will, they can interpret "danger" to mean "clear and present" or "potential danger" - 02/12/2009 04:54:26 PM 497 Views
Last defense of life cannot mean potential danger. *NM* - 02/12/2009 05:51:27 PM 212 Views
Yes it can. It all depends on interpretation. - 03/12/2009 12:22:47 AM 496 Views
