A Random thought just occurred to me and I wanted to throw it out. I don't know if the idea has been brought up before.
Rand has two wounds, one wound inflicted by Fain with SL dagger. Other inflicted by Ishy with, I assume, the True Power.
Now when Rand came into close proximity with Fain in WH, his wounds(or the SL wound atleast) burst into agony as if being exposed to the evil energy that caused it was strengthening the wound, making it worse.
Now in TGS, Rand actually channeled TP. Not just was in the proximity like with Fain but essentially pulled the power into his body. What kind of effect would this have had on the Dark One infected wound on his side I wonder? If it operates the way the SL wound does, we might assume that Rands use of TP has made it worse. Given that he was channeling TP and was in ecstacy at the time he might not have felt any difference. And afterwards he was in the super-void which might have dulled the pain. He also did not channel for long so the effect might have been limited, this time.
Now there are a lot of theories that state that it is this wound that will open at Shayol Ghul to kill him. Rand himself thinks this. There are also lots of new theories that state that Rand will seal the DO away by channeling the TP and avoiding the tainting of the OP that way. However if my theory is correct, is it possible that channeling so much TP, so near Shayol Ghul might strengthen the DO wound so much that it will burst open and kill Rand. Or atleast make him fall into near-death coma which may or may not be healed by Nynaeve.
Thoughts?
