I doubt this will prove to be correct, but might the thing that Sanderson says will become important from the second set of three books be Alviarin's letter to Rand? It hasn't added much to the story up to this point, and with her role in the BA known to Egwene, she may be willing to try something risky, like joining Rand's entourage. Any thoughts?
And with the BA plotline being pretty much resolved now, I don't really see how the letter would have such an impact.
I still like the dices in Mat's head best as the important detail, even though there was already one incident of this in the end of TDR (but as said, BS wasn't sure, where it started, maybe he confused it or simply forgot about the dices in TDR).
A new idea I got is that it might be the Aiel's belief that if you die, you wake from the dream. Not sure if it fits 100 %, but IIRC it was never really discussed that much and we might have heard about it the first time in books 4-6.
