Last I heard Jordan had no complaints against his primary editor.

Its the editors' job to find redundancies like this.
Who, I again note, indulged the sin far more in TWoTs primary author. And for all I chuckled about it early in the game, Jordan didn't have his wife edit his work, he married his editor (a stroke of genius I bet many aspiring writers wish had occurred to them.
) If the editor has a copy of Fowlers Modern English Usage Dictionary they'll ignore the criticism rather than what's being criticized.
