I'm trying to gauge my understanding of where Nynaeve ranks compared to Graendal. I obviously have my opinion. I thought it would be helpful to get everyone else's opinion.
I purposefully framed the question the way I did. In polls, how you ask the question can determine the outcome of your answers. A great deal of research has actually gone into that whole topic. Anyway, framing the issue is important to me because it lets me steer the conversation, at least initially, in the direction I seek. I also feel I will get a more honest answer asking whether Nynaeve is "very rare" instead of asking whether Nynaeve is stronger than Graendal.
My hope is to show that everyone except a couple of people (no need to name who ) thinks Nynaeve is of "very rare" strength. By Graendal's own admission, someone who is of very rare strength is stronger than Graendal. It will make me feel better if more people agree with me than agree with *you know who*. Of course, just because more people agree with me that Nynaeve is of very rare strength, that doesn't guarantee I am right about Nynaeve being stronger than Graendal. But it does mean my position is considered the majority, and *you know who* is in the minority. Based from the responses so far, just about everybody agrees Nynaeve is of very rare strength. Nynaeve is not just "rare," she is "very rare." That makes a big difference, and that is why I put "very rare" in quotes.

Is Nynaeve of "very rare" strength?

IMO, it's self evident that the female list only contains named characters

I find it unlikely that a super strong channeler would end up being unimportant to the plot *NM*

So, in terms of Nynaeve's power, do you think she is VERY rare? *NM*

Yes. She is so rare that she is mythic. A foiled Nynaeve can prolly fetch $100. *NM*

Don't forget Therava. She's stronger than any woman in the tower according to Galina.
