Don't get me wrong, I like BS and have read all his works save for the Alcatraz books, but I'm curious to know if he intentionally used Watchmen for inspiration on this scene.
In order to fulfill the Seanchan prophesy, Rand had to stand on his own grave, meaning he had to be on Dragonmount. I'm very sure that this whole scene was very much RJ. Meaning it was imagined before any Watchmen inspiration could take place.
