Egwene is as power-hungry as ever. Her "heroics" are about as believable as Big Foot. How does she miraculously discover, in the heat of the moment, that linking (with novices who can barely channel) is a way to work around the fork-root block?
And her bloodlust at killing Seanchan is rather disturbing. She is only about vengence for her suffering and has placed her loyalty rather blindly in the Tower. Rand, on the other hand, realizes that, although the Seanchan commit atrocities against channelers, they are a stabilizing force that is actually going to help them in the Last Battle. But of course, the Tower benefiting/winning against the Seanchan will only mean more power and influence for Egwene. How convenient.
