This is so depressing! Theoretically, this would be a huge, awesome thing

But yeah... no way.
There's just... too... MUCH!
Eye of the World could be done as a movie... maybe. MAYBE. Things would have to be pared down a bit, and some subtleties (thoughts, feelings) and abstract concepts (Rand reaching for the void, feeling the "glow" would have to be made more obvious, but it could be done. Even then, though, it'd be the kind of movie where only a reader will get the best experience (like with Watchmen).
The later stuff, though... yikes. 50 billion plotlines, many of which don't pay off till 5 books later. Oodles of named characters, many of which have some vital, but small, part of the plot.
The problem is that it would be best done as a TV series, but a TV series you were watching on DVD. It'd be the kind of series where if you missed more than two episodes, you'd be pretty lost. And the episodes would have to be pretty fast paced- none of this filler junk you see in Sword of Truth.

Ha, if they wanted to do it right, they'd make at least three movies out of just the first book. *NM*

I agree. Make the first 3 books into movies and end it. They can stand as a trilogy. *NM*

In addition to what's been said, I hope the prospect of movies won't delay the last two books. *NM*
