I actually don't think Callandor will be used at all - perhaps we are being over-literal.

If you go back to The Shadow Rising, while Rand fought Asmodean, and the two struggled over the Access Key, Rand used his fat little man angreal and formed the Power in such a way as to sever the black chords surrounding Asmodean, and when he attacked, RJ wrote that he formed the Power into a sword - a sword of justice, and he thrust with it.
So, I am starting to think that the his greatest weapon will not be Callandor, an angreal or anything of that nature. It may end up being something as sappy as love, truth and justice or something equally corny.
