He is one of the Asha'man, who was bonded by a Rebels Aes Sedai. We neither heard about him nor Nelavaire before, I think. At least if Naeff isn't his surname and Canler, Hardlin or Norely the forename (those three were previously mentioned being AM in Logain's Team, Canler even being a sturdy Andoran like Naeff).
It's interesting that the paranoid Rand trusts him so much so quickly. He basically takes Logain's place as a messenger. But I think Naeff is a good guy.
If that is the case, we should be thinking about what went on with Myrelle and the others. Good to have a new mystery to think about. Perhaps Naeff IS a spy for Taim.
