Egwene's chapters are only accentuated because the unification of the White Tower has been a main theme since book 4. It also involved a lot of political subterfuge and complex details from within the two camps.
Egwene is not portrayed as any more heroic than the other main protagonists. Her goal was to unite the Tower and become Amyrlin which she obtained. Elayne had similar aspirations regarding the Lion Throne, which she also got right - and that took very long and certainly elevated her heroic status. Nynaeve but her own admission in TGS is one of the most powerful and influential women alive, a woman who helped cleanse the taint and who defeated Moghedien, Healed Stilling and other miracles.
All the women have been shown equally I think.
