I may have taken this for granted when assuming Mesaana is posing as Danelle or now one of the 3 that were missing and didn't swear on the Oath Rod.
Is there a quote somewhere that proves a channeler can make it seem her power is less than it really is?
I agree with your point though, if Graendal is assuming Mesaana is posing as a channeler, then logically there MUST be a weave to semi-mask your channeling so you appear weaker.
With all this said, I am now leaning towards Mesaana being a servant. Whoever suggested she could be Elaida's maid is a great idea. That is my #1 theory of who Mesaana is right now.

I don't have a quote, but I do remember people being unsure of lanfear's strength. Something about her keeping her true strength hidden. She could have been using that trick?
