I have only one comment, and that's about your last sentence...

Why should Rand be accepted as leader through Egwene's choice?
Why should he not wrest his leadership from all contenders by the power of his force.
Destroying the Choedan Kal was ridiculous. He could have sealed Tarwin's Gap through volcanic lava.
He could have shielded ALL Aes Sedai, and made them swear allegiance to him one by one. Including Egwene.
He could have crushed the Seanchan.
Then he could have asaulted Shayol Ghul with a united, ordered force behind him, not because the world chooses to follow him, but because if they don't, the Dark One wins. It is the rational, logical course to follow.
Anyway, shattering the Choedan Kal was unnecessary. He did not have to erase Ebou Dar with it. He could just have destroyed the Seanchan fleet with it. Or turned the Seanchan continent into the Randland version of Atlantis.
Having a feelgood scene may be nice and fuzzy, but it wasn't really necessary for victory.

That is probably due to you having fought so many wars in Video Games, but not real ones.

I loved Dark Rand. I agree, I wish he was around longer. Should've come out earlier in the series.

Reading about a saint is boring. Reading about an imperfect hero is exciting.

That's actually kind of shallow and limited

I don't read for morality either, but IMO, it makes a better story because it is tougher

You're right. But I'm very angry with the writers for portraying Egwene in such a positive way.

I do have to say, though, that I would have burst out laughing if he balefired Tuon and the Seanchan

You were shown as early as TDR that conquering someone doesn't mean they are going to follow you
