Does the sa'angreal base its enhancement off of Egwene's potential, her current power (assuming she is still x degrees of power away from her full potential) or her forkroot-choked trickle of power? Are sa'angreals different from angreals in regards to the circle?
Basically I think Egwene forgot to let Nicola or someone else use the sa'angreal (not to mention wanting to skip the time required to explain how to use angreal/sa'angreal to a novice). Call it stress, or whatever, but she just grabbed the sa'angreal and used it. There were so many dynamics at play there (forkroot, linking, sa'angreal vs angreal) that it'll be pretty hard to know if it was an oversight by Team Jordan, a mistake on Egwene's part, or an acceptable tactic.
